Los Angeles Collects 4-2 Win
|
Texas got a valiant performance from pitcher Jeremy Stinnett, but it wasn't enough to beat the Los Angeles Angels. Los Angeles won the game, 4-2. Stinnett threw 8.0 innings allowing 4 runs for the losing team. Pepillo Guzman, the winner, goes to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts over 5 innings. Tim Bardell recorded his 29th save for Los Angeles.
Tristão Crava went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs for Los Angeles. The five-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Jeremy Stinnett. It was his 97th hit of the season.
"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Crava told the Los Angeles Observer. "And padding the Los Angeles win column."
Los Angeles is now 63-84, Texas 75-72.
