Mets Suffer One-Run Loss at Chicago
|
The Chicago Cubs and New York Mets played an exciting game.
Chicago right-hander Ben Randich helped his team edge New York by the score of 3-2. Randich kept the opposing lineup in check. With the win, the Cubs improved to 75-71.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Cubs had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when catcher Sergio Capote hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Ramon Castellano and made the score 3-2, Cubs. Capote went 1-3.
"Ben pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Chicago manager Shane Prime.
