Ramos Hits 2 home runs in Mariners Win
|
Seattle first baseman Jorge Ramos played a vital role in his team's 6-5 conquest of Houston. He was 4-5 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 4 times and drove in 3 for Seattle. Jonathan Arthur earned the save for Seattle, his 10th of the year. After today's action, Seattle sits at 69-77, while Houston falls to 50-95.
Ramos had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-1 changeup from Alex Avila, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Mariners a 6-5 lead. It was the 50th home run of the year for Ramos.
"Jorge has a really good game plan and he sticks with it," said Seattle manager Danny Kuchta. "He's a consummate pro."
