Royals Lick Phillies, 7-3
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Kansas City Royals and Philadelphia Phillies came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Due in large part to left fielder Victor Soto, the Kansas City Royals sunk the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-3. Soto was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Danny Emerson earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. His record is now 7-1.
Making an impact for Kansas City was center fielder Jaden Wilkins. Tuffy drilled a run-scoring double off Jose Ruvalcaba in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, Wilkins went 3-3 with 2 doubles.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Wilkins.
The Royals improved to 58-71.
