Orioles 11-6 Winners Over Houston
|
Not everyone stuck through the 15-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
The Baltimore Orioles dumped the Houston Astros, 11-6, in large part due to third baseman Dave Handon. On the day, Handon was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Orioles. The win went to Chris Wallace in relief, making him now 4-9. Luis Lara took the loss for Houston.
Jonathan Helm, who finished 5th in the AL in home runs with 43 in 2040, contributed to the Baltimore win with a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Handon told reporters after the game.
The Orioles now have a record of 34-84.
