Brewers Lose to Reds, 7-5
|
Though he had a terrific game, Mike Megill could not prevent his team, the Milwaukee Brewers, from absorbing a loss. Cincinnati won the game, 7-5. Megill went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Bob Bassett got credit for the win, improving to 10-6. He allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 6.2 innings. The National League Central Division-leading Reds are 74-44.
Sam Nichols helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 3-0, Reds.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Cincinnati manager Scott Wallace.
