The Minnesota Twins got a marvelous performance from pitcher Vince Huizar. The right-hander kept the Cleveland offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-2 Minnesota victory at Target Field. Javy Gutierrez, now 6-5, was credited with the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Chris White notched his 26th save of the season.
Minnesota went up, 3-2, on Luis Charbonier's 19th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Charbonier hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Cleveland pitcher Adan Van Natter shaking his head.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Charbonier told the Minnesota Herald.
The last-place Indians have dropped 4 straight games.
