Nationals Earn 6-5 Home Win
|
Los Angeles shortstop Mike Houck had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Washington at Nationals Park. Houck went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Josh Morse, the winning pitcher, is now 10-6. He went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 8 and walking 2. The Nationals improved their record to 58-59 with the win over Los Angeles.
Ted Kagan was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk for Washington. The 35-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jorge Salazar. It was his 45th walk of the season.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Kagan.
