Orioles Lose, 6-4, to Kansas City
|
The Kansas City Royals downed the Baltimore Orioles, 6-4, the largest share of the credit belonging to right fielder Victor Soto. On the day, Soto went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Royals. The 4th-place Royals bumped their record to 51-45.
Kansas City used the stroke of Mitch Rankin to get the win. The shortstop hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Royals ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Matt B.
