Astros Defeat Braves, 8-3
|
Joey Plante, who is a two-time All-Star, led Houston to a win over Atlanta. The final score was 8-3. The second baseman collected 2 extra-base hits, including 1 triple and 1 double. He also delivered 4 RBI. Houston pitcher Bobby Aguilar earned the win, hiking his record to 1-1. Dante Sibrian suffered the loss. At 52-40, Houston is in first place in the American League West Division.
Plante had a key at-bat for Houston in the bottom of the first. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and gave Houston an early 2-0 lead.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Plante told the Houston Citizen.
