Blue Jays Beat Visiting Astros, 12-5
A good performance from first baseman Nate Schwartz helped the Toronto Blue Jays defeat the Houston Astros, 12-5. Schwartz went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Blue Jays. Brad Braden got the win, improving to 6-5. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 2 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 4. Steve Watson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 3 save opportunities.

Joe Lindstrom had a big bases-clearing double for the Blue Jays in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Toronto leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Jim Williams, who is a two-time All-Star, and swatted a double to left. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blue Jays ahead, 6-2.

"I try to not think too much," said Schwartz.

The Blue Jays improved their record to 41-47 with the win over Houston.
