Reds Run Win Streak to 7
|
Milwaukee got a decent performance from pitcher Robbie Rubio, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cincinnati Reds. Cincinnati won the Great American Ball Park contest, 5-4. Rubio threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The Reds, at 54-30, have now won 7 straight.
Bobby Alexander dealt the Brewers a blow in the bottom of the eighth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Cincinnati leading 4-3, Alexander, who finished 2nd in the NL in batting average with .333 in 2042, hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"We found a way to get it done," Alexander said.
