At Marlins Park, the Miami Marlins and Nashville Stars were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Nashville Stars romped over the Miami Marlins, 13-2, at Marlins Park. Steve Farver led the way. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 for Nashville. Picking up the win was Brad Bryant. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 9 and walked 0.

The Marlins had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Stars going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old first baseman David Sahagun came to the plate. Sahagun hit a bases-clearing double on a 1-1 sinker from Miami hurler Hugh Harkleroad. It was Sahagun's 1st double of the year.

Sahagun told the Nashville Bulletin: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
