Indians Victors, 4-2, at Baltimore
|
The Cleveland Indians defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 4-2, in American League action at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Cleveland pitcher Sam MacLeod had a standout performance. In 6.1 innings, MacLeod surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Tim Dedes, credited with the save, is now 12 for 13 in save opportunities.
Cleveland used a clutch at-bat from Pat Steere to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Indians ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I just trusted my stuff," said MacLeod.
The Indians improved to 33-45.
