Furlough, Royals Come Up Short in Bid for Road Win; Rangers Take 2-0 Series Lead
When the games really matter, the Texas Rangers put on their best show, beating the Kansas City Royals by a final score of 14-13. Jared Furlough was 5 for 5 with 2 home runs, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 4 times and drove in 6. Texas now leads Kansas City 2-0 in the best-of-7 affair.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Texas. That's when 27-year old shortstop Jeff Blackhurst hit a solo home run off Juan Avila to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
