Salem Takes Round 1 in Deciding Game
The Salem Red Sox are heading to the Round 2, having narrowly defeated the Lynchburg Hillcats.

Salem edged Lynchburg in the series 3-2, with a win at Haley Toyota Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark in the clinching game by a 4-1 margin.

Strom Still turned in a strong offensive performance for the Red Sox and got series MVP for his efforts.

"I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a Round 2 win."

It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Still continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance.

For the series, he hit .533 with a .650 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 0 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Salem Red Sox will play against the Winston-Salem Dash in the next round. Winston-Salem won their series against the Carolina Mudcats 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
