Inland Empire 66ers won a nail-biting series against the Lake Elsinore Storm 4-3, wrapping up the Round 1 finale 5-2 at Lake Elsinore Diamond.

66ers catcher Wally McCleary was named the series MVP.

He batted .400, drove in 8 runs and scored 5 to lead Inland Empire into the next round of play.

"Wally was real solid for us, real solid," said 66ers manager Jimmy Principe. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time."

The Inland Empire 66ers will play against the Visalia Rawhide in the next round. Visalia won their series against the San Jose Giants 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes..
