Jeff Cannon said he didn't even realize how well he had been playing in the Round 2 until he was shown his own statistics.

The Texas (DSL) Rangers 2 center fielder put up a .333 average with 1 home runs, 7 RBI and 5 runs scored, enough to earn him series MVP honors. It all added up to his Rangers 2 advancing to the Round 3, with a 4-2 series win over the Los Angeles (DSL) Angels.

"I didn't really pay attention to the numbers or my stats at all as we went along," he said. "I'm just so focused on trying to help the team win, that's it."

The series victory had become official with a 6-5 triumph at Academia de Abel Garcia. Even if Cannon is not paying close attention to his stats, the rest of baseball certainly will be keeping an eye on him as the playoffs continue.

"I like to be under pressure and think I respond well to it," he said.

The Texas (DSL) Rangers 2 don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Philadelphia (DSL) Phillies Red - Toronto (DSL) Blue Jays series. Philadelphia (DSL) leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
