Reds Get Clutch Win Versus Atlanta
|
The Atlanta Braves got a superb performance from first baseman Chris Mallett, but the Cincinnati Reds still won the game, 4-3. Mallett went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Cincinnati now has a record of 29-20 with the win.
Jon Diller, who led the NL in on-base percentage with .432 in 2036, had a direct impact on the outcome. Diller contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the ninth inning to put Cincinnati up, 4-3.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Diller.
