Royals Come Back Late to Top Twins, 5-2
|
The Kansas City Royals saddled the Minnesota Twins with a loss at Target Field. The final score was 5-2. Chris Little was 2 for 4, including 1 single and 1 home run. The Kansas City center fielder scored 1 run and drove in 4. Freddy Furtado got credit for the save for Kansas City. It was his 4th of the year. Kansas City is in third place in the American League Central Division with a record of 16-21.
Little had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count cutter from Jimmy Mazza, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Royals a 5-1 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Little.
"Chris is still learning," said Royals manager Bill W. "The sky's the limit for him."
