MacGregor Slams 5 Hits for West Virginia
After a 5-hit effort to lead West Virginia's 10-2 victory over the Rome Braves, center fielder Ashton MacGregor told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the South Atlantic League-level is really something special."

The 21-year-old player earned his accolades today at State Mutual Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Braves.

"His swing is getting there," said Power skipper Trey Williams, who spoke glowingly of MacGregor after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ashton did that to perfection today."

Ashton MacGregor singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.

This season MacGregor is hitting at a .343 pace with 2 home runs, 34 RBIs and has scored 28 times.
