Cubs Won't Get Playoff Berth Thursday, September 28th , 2028 Chicago Cubs manager Paul Husch said his players are "devastated" to have missed the playoffs. Today it became official -- the club has run out of games and was mathematically eliminated from qualifying for a spot in the postseason. This is the club's 2nd playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2026. In total, the Cubs have missed the playoffs 134 times in their 158-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Cubs have made the playoffs 6 times.
