NL Awards Best Batter Prize to Tenney Monday, July 31st , 2028 26-year-old Derek Tenney sent shock waves through Major League Baseball last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the National League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Tenney made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .556 average, 15 hits in 27 at-bats, 1 home run and 4 RBI. Where the Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Tenney certainly made his mark last week.
