Guardians Dominate, Sweep Division Series Tuesday, October 6th , 2026 Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the American League Division Series. It turned out quite a bit different. The Cleveland Guardians swept aside the Boston Red Sox to advance to the League Championship Series, winning the final game by a 12-4 score at Fenway Park. The series MVP was designated hitter Jhonkensy Noel, who hit .800 with a .800 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 runs. "We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it." The Cleveland Guardians don't know who they will face in the next round.
