Salas's 23-Game Hit Streak Ends Sunday, June 11th , 2028 The Las Vegas Athletics got more than the 5-4 victory at Target Field -- they also put an end to the 23-game hitting streak of Minnesota Twins third baseman Jose Salas by holding him without a hit in 4 at-bats. After the game, Salas seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." This year, Salas is hitting at a .321 pace with 11 home runs and 40 RBIs. He has played in 58 games and scored 50 times. |
