Division Series Goes the Distance, New York Prevails Friday, October 11th , 2024 Depending on your loyalties, the Division Series was either thrilling or heartbreaking. The series went down to its final game, with the New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Mets came out on top, winning 6-2 at Citi Field today to take the series 3-2. "We're lucky to be going into the League Championship Series," said New York pitcher Brandon Nimmo. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason." Nimmo earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .450 average, with 0 home runs, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. The New York Mets don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Los Angeles Dodgers - St. Louis Cardinals series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece.
