No Late-Season Magic Coming: San Francisco Out of Playoffs Sunday, September 29th , 2024 Members of the San Francisco Giants are left wondering what could have been today, as the team has been eliminated from postseason contention. "You look back at a handful of games that easily could have gone the other way for us," said reliever Evan Marshall. "We really think we were good enough to get to the playoffs this year, so it stings." San Francisco last appeared in the postseason in 2021. This is their 3rd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 126 times in their 154-year history.
