Pirates Come up Short of Playoffs Sunday, September 29th , 2024 The Pittsburgh Pirates clubhouse had a subdued atmosphere today, as it became official that the Pirates had officially missed the postseason. "We were close, but not close enough," Pittsburgh manager Josh Peterson said. This is the club's 9th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2015. In total, the Pirates have missed the playoffs 134 times in their 153-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Pirates have made the playoffs 3 times. Pittsburgh has won the World Series 5 times in their history. |
