Athletics Won't Get Playoff Berth Thursday, September 19th , 2024 It won't be a season to remember for the Oakland Athletics, as the club has officially missed out on the playoffs. The Athletics were mathematically eliminated from qualification today. "With any luck, in a couple years we will look back on the 2024 season as an important stepping stone to a title," said Oakland starting pitcher Daulton Jefferies. This is the club's 4th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2020. In total, the Athletics have missed the playoffs 124 times in their 154-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Athletics have missed the playoffs 5 times. Oakland last won the World Series in 1989. |
