Nunez Picked NL Player of the Week Monday, September 9th , 2024 23-year-old Malcom Nunez sent shock waves through Major League Baseball last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the National League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Nunez made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .407 average, 11 hits in 27 at-bats, 6 home runs and 9 RBI. Where the Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Nunez certainly made his mark last week. So far this season Nunez has gotten 133 hits in 516 at-bats for a .258 batting average with 30 home runs. His stats include 84 RBIs and 85 runs scored. He has played in 140 games. |
