Athletics End Keith's Streak Saturday, September 7th , 2024 Colt Keith, third baseman for the Detroit Tigers, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Oakland Athletics today. Not only did the Athletics break his 24-game hitting streak, they also beat Detroit by the score of 2-0. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Keith said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." Presently Keith is batting .315 with 157 hits and 15 home runs. He has knocked in 52 runs and scored 57 times. |
