Dreadful Season Sees Playoff Hopes Dashed for Chicago Sunday, September 1st , 2024 There would have never been more than a tiny glimmer of hope, but today even that is gone. The Chicago White Sox have been officially eliminated from playoff contention. Chicago last appeared in the postseason in 2020. This is their 4th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 131 times in their 142-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the White Sox have only made the playoffs once. Chicago has won the World Series 3 times in their history. |
