Cubs Steve Simonds Injured: Day-to-Day Wednesday, July 18th , 2029 Steve Simonds of the Chicago Cubs was hurt in yesterday's game with the Cardinals. He sustained back spasms while throwing a pitch and will be listed day-to-day. Team doctors said it could be one week before the standout starting pitcher will be completely healed. He could miss a few games. Thus far this season, Simonds has tossed 56.1 innings in 15 starts, fanned 66 batters, walked 37 and put up a 4.15 ERA with 1 win and 4 losses. |
