That day has now come for Chicago, as they were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention today. The Cubs have made the playoffs 22 times in their 162 years as a COBB franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 2nd in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2030. In the last 10 seasons, the Cubs have only made the playoffs once.
