Venegas Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Friday, September 24th , 2032 Jorge Venegas of the Cincinnati Reds extended his hitting streak to 20 straight games with 2 hits in today's 9-8 triumph over the San Diego Padres at Great American Ball Park. "Jorge has been making it easy for me to pencil his name in the lineup every day," Reds manager Craig Albernaz joked after the game. Jorge Venegas doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Venegas is hitting .272 this season with 37 home runs, 106 RBIs and 112 runs scored. He has 162 hits in 596 at-bats. |
