Sherer Pounds 3 HR Against Padres Wednesday, September 1st , 2032 Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Sam Sherer put on a dazzling display of power today at Petco Park against the San Diego Padres. In the 6-0 Dodgers victory Sherer penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," San Diego manager Adam Rosales said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 30-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Sherer said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Sam Sherer flied out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Markevian Hence in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jhosmer Alvarez in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jeremy Collins in the 9th. Sherer is batting .246 this year with 31 home runs, 75 RBIs and 80 runs scored. He has 119 hits in 483 at-bats. |
