Isbell Smacks 5 Hits for Yankees
Tuesday, August 17th , 2032
After a 5-hit effort to lead New York's 13-4 victory over the Washington Nationals, center fielder Joe Isbell told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the COBB-level is really something special."

The 25-year-old player earned his accolades today at Nationals Park with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Nationals.

"His swing is getting there," said Yankees skipper Justin Knoedler, who spoke glowingly of Isbell after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Joe did that to perfection today."

Joe Isbell hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Ben Adams in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jackson Rutledge in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jordan Echols in the 9th.

In 116 games this year Isbell has posted a .326 average and put up these numbers: 36 home runs, 91 RBIs and 100 runs scored.
