Comer Sizzles with 31-Game Batting Streak Friday, August 13th , 2032 Jeff Comer, third baseman for the Boston Red Sox, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 31 games with 1 hit in his club's 8-1 victory today over the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park today. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Jeff Comer grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
