Fenton Bangs 3 HR Against Chicago Tuesday, July 27th , 2032 Garrett Fenton of the Royals went on a hitting spree at Kauffman Stadium today and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a 12-9 loss to the Chicago Cubs. "I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," Fenton said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too." The Kansas City first baseman did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. Garrett Fenton hit a two-run home run off Joel Crowe in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Ed Cubas in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Steve Simonds in the 9th. This season Fenton has hit at a .308 clip with 78 RBIs, 34 home runs and 59 runs scored. He has played in 96 games. |
