Los Angeles beat Houston on the strength of starting pitcher Luke Murphy's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-3. Los Angeles is now 10-17.

Mike Trout was vital to the Los Angeles win. He was 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 3 runs. In the top of the fifth with two out, Trout hit a 2-run single. It made the score 3-1, in favor of the Angels.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Angels manager Bill Webb. "This one was nice to get."
