Mariners Upend Guardians, 10-7
The Seattle Mariners knocked off the Cleveland Guardians, 10-7, in American League action at Progressive Field. Seattle pitcher and Rye, New York, native George Kirby had an outstanding performance. The winner was Kirby. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Daniel Espino. Andres Munoz closed out the game, earning his 7th save.

Early in the game, second baseman Michael Arroyo had a bases-clearing triple for Seattle. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Mariners on top, 3-0.

"They played a better game than we did," said Cleveland skipper Mike Parrish.

Seattle goes to 13-12.
