Red Sox Rally to Win
|
Boston and Toronto duked it out and the Red Sox came out victorious.
The Toronto Blue Jays could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Cionel Perez into a win. Instead, the Boston Red Sox prevailed, 6-3. Perez threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Brady Strohm picked up the win in relief. Isaiah Campbell took the loss for Toronto. Josh Hader earned the save, his 6th, for the Red Sox.
Nick Decker came through with a big-time hit for Boston. The right fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Decker.
The Blue Jays drop to 11-14 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2029 season.
