Cardinals Drop Brewers, 6-4, with Late Score
|
Getting offensive support from Lars Nootbaar, the St. Louis Cardinals topped the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-4. Nootbaar went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Cardinals. Diego Castillo came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. Trevor Megill recorded the save, his 2nd.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Cardinals grabbed the lead when Nootbaar hit his 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Corbin Burnes made it 6-3, St. Louis.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Nootbaar. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
St. Louis is now 10-12.
