Royals Topple Orioles, 3-2
|
The Kansas City Royals faced a tough opponent in Baltimore pitcher Edwin Uceta, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Kauffman Stadium by a final score of 3-2. Uceta went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner was Kansas City reliever Brady Singer, now 1-2. The loser was Keegan Akin. Josh Staumont got credit for the save for Kansas City. It was his 4th of the year.
Kansas City took a 3-2 lead on Jeison Guzman's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Baltimore pitcher Keegan Akin in the bottom of the seventh.
"That's baseball," said Baltimore manager Ron Chiu. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
The win takes Kansas City to 9-11.
