Sanchez Now 1-1 After Subduing White Sox
|
Ramon Sanchez, who finished 2nd in the AL in strikeouts with 257 last year, pitched a gem in leading Tampa Bay to a 2-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox. Shane McClanahan earned save number 5 this season. The win takes Tampa Bay to 8-2.
Sanchez was the winning pitcher. He raised his season record to 1-1. In 8.1 innings of work, Sanchez gave up no runs on no hits, while striking out 10. The White Sox were never able to generate much offense.
"I felt strong out there," said Sanchez.
