Crews goes 3-for-4, Leads Nationals to Win
|
Dylan Crews impressed in the 5-4 Washington win over Philadelphia. Crews, who is rated as the 2nd best prospect by BNN, was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner was Washington reliever Victor Arano, now 2-0. The loser was Mick Abel. DJ Herz got credit for the save for Washington. It was his 3rd of the year.
Victor Robles went 1-3 with a walk for Washington. The 26-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Mick Abel. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
In postgame comments to the Washington Chronicle, Robles said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
With the loss, Philadelphia sinks to 4-3.
