Extra-Inning Win by Orioles Over Royals
|
There was no shortage of dramatics at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
The Baltimore Orioles stopped the Kansas City Royals, 8-6, behind an impressive performance from Adley Rutschman. The 26-year old catcher made life miserable for Kansas City pitching. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Felix Bautista picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Brady Singer took the loss.
Baltimore won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Brady Singer on the mound for Kansas City, left fielder Austin Hays hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Orioles fans to their feet.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Kansas City manager Judd Lasher.
Baltimore goes to 3-1.
