Wet weather did not postpone the Kansas City-Cincinnati ballgame.

The Kansas City Royals beat the Cincinnati Reds, 8-2, at Kauffman Stadium. Junior Marino starred for Kansas City. He was 1-1 with 4 walks. He scored 2 times. Kansas City is now 2-1.

The Royals got a big hit from shortstop Bobby Witt Jr.. Facing Cincinnati pitcher Ryan Loutos in the bottom of the seventh, Witt Jr. pounded a bases-clearing double to left. His 2nd double of the season put the Royals ahead, 8-1.
