The Colorado Rockies defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates, 13-1, in part because of first baseman Nolan Jones. Jones hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Rockies. Joe Rock went 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The left-hander struck out 3 and walked 3. With the win, he ups his record to 1-0 this season. The win gives Colorado a record of 1-2.

With Colorado leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Jones hit a changeup from Bubba Chandler for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Rockies ahead, 3-0.
