Not everyone stuck through the 44-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

The Kansas City Royals routed the Cincinnati Reds, 13-1, at Kauffman Stadium. Bobby Witt Jr., who finished 3rd in the AL in stolen bases with 48 in 2023, was one of the hitting stars. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Kansas City. The win has Kansas City at 1-1.

In the bottom of the third, Kansas City left fielder Junior Marino had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Marino stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 4-1, Kansas City. For the game, he was 2 for 5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
